What is "racket-tail"

Racket-tail \Rack"et-tail\ (r[a^]k"[e^]t-t[=a]l), n. (Zo["o]l.) Any one of several species of humming birds of the genus Steganura, having two of the tail feathers very long and racket-shaped.

The genus Prioniturus contains nine parrot species found in the Philippines and Indonesia. They are easily distinguished from all other parrots by their elongated central tail feathers with the bare shaft and spatula at the end.
