Qiwñaqucha

Qiwñaqucha ( Quechua qiwña, qiwuña polylepis, qucha lake, hispanicized spelling Queuñacocha) or Hatun Qiwñaqucha is a small lake in the Urupampa mountain range of the Cusco Region, Lares District, Calca Province, Peru. The lake lies north of Ch'iqun, Siriwani and Paru Urqu and southwest of Kiswarani, at an altitude of about 4,170 m. It is long, and wide at its widest point. West of it there is another small lake called Killaqucha.

Qiwñaqucha lies in the private conservation area 'Hatun Qiwña Kiswarani Qullana' (Hatun Queuña Quishuarani Collana) of the rural community Kiswarani Qullana (Quishuarani Collana), founded in 2009 to protect the threatened polylepis pepei plant.
