Qīngyuǎn , is a prefecture-level city in northwestern Guangdong province, People's Republic of China. Its population was 3,698,412 at the 2010 census whom 1,510,044 lived in the built-up (or metro) area made of Qingcheng and Qingxin urban Districts largely being urbanized. The primary language spoken is Cantonese. With an area of , Qingyuan is the largest prefecture-level city by land area in the province. It is located on the Bei River, is surrounded by mountainous areas, is directly served by China National Highway 107, which connects the city with Guangzhou.
