Qashani

Qashani or Kashi is the method of tilework production in the 19th century. The mosaic technique uses Persian-like floral-depicting 4- or 6-sided glazed tiles. This mosaical feature can be seen in the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. In Morocco, the process is known as zillij. Kashi, the abbreviated form of Qashani, was also introduced to Sindh and Multan where numerous examples of shrines and mosques embellished with blue, white and green tile work exist.
