Pushkar and Gayatri are a husband and wife director duo. They met during their undergrad days in the Dept of Visual Communication, Loyola College, Chennai and have been working together ever since. They did their Masters in Filmmaking in the U.S.
On their return, they made their maiden feature ‘Oram po’(aka Auto), starring Arya and Pooja. The film was touted as a cult comedy and reviews claimed the birth of a ‘new voice’ in Tamil films.
The duo’s next film ‘Va’ also called as ‘Quarter cutting’ is again a quirky comedy set in Chennai. This film too has a cult following and the two movies have proven to be trend setters as a lot of comedies with quirky storylines started emerging in Tamil cinema after this.
Their next project Vikram-Vedha, starring Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi is set to begin in 2016. The project has garnered eager expectation even before an official announcement. In fact, the title was trending on Twitter when news leaked out with combination of its lead cast.
