PopUrls
PopUrls is a mashup of the web's most visited social news sites and portals that encapsulates headlines of its sources in near-realtime. Introduced in March 2006 by Thomas Marban, the site created a new trend in the so-called Single Page Aggregators and serves as a case study for Web Syndication. PopUrls was included as number five in Time Magazine's list of the top 50 websites of 2009.
PopUrls was acquired by Idealab in July 2010 for an undisclosed amount.
In October 2014, PopUrls' original creator Thomas Marban launched its official successor called Popist.com
