Pleased to Meet You is the ninth studio album by British rock band James. The album was released in July 2001 via Mercury Records. Despite it being the band's first album not to reach the top 10 in the UK since Strip-mine (excepting the experimental Wah Wah), the album received mixed reviews from music critics upon release. Indeed, AllMusic described the album as their "tightest, freshest, most contemporary batch of songs, weatherproofed to stand the test of time". One single, " Getting Away with It (All Messed Up)", was released from the album.
Shortly after the release of the album, lead vocalist Tim Booth announced he was leaving the band. The album's front cover features a composite image of all the band members' faces.
Pleased to Meet You is the third and final studio album by the 1990s britpop band Sleeper. The album was released on 13 October 1997 in the UK, peaking at number 7 on the UK Album Chart. Two singles were released from this album, "She's a Good Girl", which reached number 28, and "Romeo Me", which scraped in at 39 on the UK Top 40 singles chart.
The single for "She's a Good Girl" was revealed to be the first single Joe Thomas bought on BBC Radio 1.
