Peronate \Per"o*nate\, a. [L. peronatus rough?booted, fr. pero,
-onis, a kind of rough boot.] (Bot.)
A term applied to the stipes or stalks of certain fungi which
are covered with a woolly substance which at length becomes
powdery.
