Pavitra (January 16, 1894 – May 16, 1969) (from the Sanskrit word for "pure") was one of the very early disciples of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. The name was one of Srimati Radharani's 1000 names.

Pavitra is a 2013 adult Telugu film Directed by Janardhan Maharshi starring Shriya Saran, Roja Selvamani, Tanikella Bharani and Kaushik Babu in pivotial roles. K.Sadhak Kumar and G.Maheshwara Reddy produced this film on Aadesh films Banner. The Soundtrack is scored by M.M. Srilekha. Shriya will be seen in a Bold Role of a Prostitute in this film. Several wallpapers and working stills were released on 5 Jan'13. Pavitra will also be released in Tamil and Malayalam.

The film’s Tamil version has been titled ‘En Peyar Pavitra’. Which will release on the eve of Saran's birthday. Also the makers have retained the Telugu title for the Malayalam version as well. According to the director, the film is inspired from a real incident where a prostitute, who was humiliated by a politician, goes on to defeat him in an election. Pavitra’s audio is already making waves amongst music buffs, meanwhile the film’s platinum disc function was held on 19 May to celebrate the audio success. The film was released on 7 June 2013 to good reviews and emerged as a commercial success.

Pavitra is a 1986 Telugu, drama film, produced by B. R. Mohan, K. K. Viswanatham on Vijaya Lakshmi Art Creations banner and directed by Vinay. Starring Rajendra Prasad, Chandra Mohan, Bhanupriya in the lead roles and music composed by Krishna-Chakra. The film is remake of Tamil film Ingeyum Oru Gangai (1984).
