PatesTapes
Pates Tapes is an online streaming mixtape archive launched on November 1, 2010. The site was created and is maintained by Charles Pates, a self-proclaimed “Music Documentarian, Artist, Creative Director, [and] Amateur Archeologist ” The songs that make up the “tapes” on the site are first ripped from vinyl records to tapes, and they are then digitized and put online. Currently the site houses 36 mixtapes distributed across 10 genres.
