Paraglossa \Par`a*glos"sa\ (p[a^]r`[.a]*gl[o^]s"s[.a]), n.; pl. Paragloss[ae] (p[a^]r`[.a]*gl[o^]s"s[=e]). [NL., from Gr. para` beside + glw^ssa tongue.] (Zo["o]l.) One of a pair of small appendages of the lingua or labium of certain insects. See Illust. under Hymenoptera.
