Panchobh

Panchobh is a village of the Darbhanga District, state of Bihar, India. It is in the Mithila Region and is one of the largest villages based on its area and population. Brahmin (Maithil) dominate the village population, and several other castes live in nearby villages. The main town of " Laheriasarai" is located eight kilometers to the east, the administrative headquarters of Darbhanga district. Panchobh is located on the bank of the river Nima, part of " Adhwara Samuh". This village is one of the well developed villages of the Darbhanga district. Panchobh as an " Adarsh gram".

Floods occur here in July and August, and cause damage. The main commerce of the village is agriculture. There are many serviceman in the village. Around 20-30 people of the village are employed at the Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga. There is much migration from the village to: the US and Canada.

Literacy is very high. There is a high school, middle school, and Prathmik School in the village. Panchobh has many advantages being located so near Darbhanga: education, product markets and shops and transportation. The Darbhanga/Laheriasarai corridor is the main business hub of the area. Darbhanga is very attractive as a market for people from the surrounding. Near Laheriasarai tower, people of Panchobh can be found. Panchobh has a strong presence in Darbhanga and Laheriasarai.
