What is "pallastunturi"

Pallastunturi fells is a group of seven fells in the municipalities of Muonio and Enontekiö in Lapland, Finland. The highest peak is Taivaskero. The fells are a part of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park which was originally established in 1938. Pallastunturi fells are also one of the 27 National landscapes of Finland.

The first hotel in Pallastunturi was built in 1938. The Functionalism style building was destroyed by German troops during the Lapland War in October 1944. A new hotel was opened 1948.
