oyster drill
n. A type of sea snail, (taxlink Urosalpinx cinerea species noshow=1) (and others in subfamily (taxlink Ocenebrinae subfamily noshow=1), such as genera (taxlink Urosalpinx genus noshow=1), (taxlink Eurpleura genus noshow=1), and (taxlink Ocenebra genus noshow=1)), that uses an eversible gland to soften its prey's shell, and then drill a hole in the shell to consume the oyster or other shellfish.
