Oviferous \O*vif"er*ous\, a. [Ovum + -ferous: cf. F. ovif[`e]re.] (Biol.) Egg-bearing; -- applied particularly to certain receptacles, as in Crustacea, that retain the eggs after they have been excluded from the formative organs, until they are hatched.
