Ououso

was the third king of the Nanzan kingdom. He ruled from about 1402 to 1413.

Ououso was the second son of the former king, Oueishi. It was said that Ououso had studied in Nanjing for a long time, and had learned how to build a dragon boat there. After he returned to Ryukyu, he built many dragon boats, and held in May every year.

Ououso succeeded his father as king in 1402. Ououso built Tomigusuku Castle, and established himself there. He also paid tribute to Ming China as his father had. According to Chūzan Seifu , Ououso donated several eunuchs to the Ming court, but the Yongle Emperor refused them. Ououso died in a coup d'état conducted by his elder brother Tafuchi. Tafuchi seized the power after his death, but was killed by Taromai in the same year.
