Osun (Ozun) is a major Orichá (manifestation of God) in the Santería religion of the Caribbean. Traditionally he is not seated on anyone's head. This means no one can claim Osun as his guardian spirit, or padre en Santo (father in the religion). Osun is a companion to the other Orichás, and he protects the orí (head) of Santería practitioners. He is syncretized with Saint John the Baptist.
(Not to be confused with Oshun of the Ifá and Yoruba religions, also known as Osún in Latin America.)
