Oscillaria
Oscillaria \Os`cil*la"ri*a\, prop. n. [NL., fr. L. oscillare to swing.] (Bot.) A genus of dark green, or purplish black, filamentous, fresh-water alg[ae], the threads of which have an automatic swaying or crawling motion. Called also Oscillatoria.
