Orthotelia sparganella is a moth of the family Glyphipterigidae and only species of the Orthotelia genus and Orthoteliinae subfamily. It is found in most of Europe, except Spain, most of the Balkan Peninsula and Ukraine.

The wingspan is . The wings are ochreous or brownish. Adults are on wing in July and August.

The larvae feed on Iris pseudacorus, Glyceria maxima, Scirpus lacustris, Sparganium and Typha species. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine has the form of a narrow gallery, made in a young leaf. Later, the larva bore in the stem or rhizome of the host plant. The larvae have a grey or white body and a brown head. They can be found from May to June.
