Ojapali
Ojapali is a traditional folk dance from the Assam region of India. Ojapali is believed to have evolved from puppetry and is performed in a group; it is believed to be one of the oldest art forms of Assam. Ojapali is a collaboration between duo Bhargav Das - a folk Singer, and Dhon Rongpi - a guitarist.The duo started recreating Loka geet or Assamese folk songs during their time studying music production and has since then also started producing original pieces.
Ojapali can be divided into three forms based on the occasion and style:
- Byah or bigoya ojapali
- Sukananni ojapali or maroi goa ojapali
- Ramayani ojapali
