OEnanthol \[OE]*nan"thol\, n. [[oe]nanthylic + L. oleum oil.] (Chem.) An oily substance ( C6H15.CHO) obtained by the distillation of castor oil, recognized as the aldehyde of [oe]nanthylic acid, and hence called also [oe]nanthaldehyde.
