Nupont

"Nupont," meaning "North of Dupont," is a moniker for the area north of Dupont Circle located in northwest Washington, D.C., United States. Nupont includes the neighborhoods of Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, and Kalorama Heights. It is bound by Florida Avenue to the south, Connecticut Avenue and Columbia Avenue to the north and west, and 18th Street to the east.

Nupont emerged in the late twentieth century as development in neighboring Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle accelerated. While commercial activity gravitated towards Connecticut Avenue and later towards the 2000 block of 18th Street Northwest, the area between the two neighborhoods remained predominantly residential.

Nupont features historic, terrace-style homes (also called "row houses") commonly found throughout Washington, D.C. and other Mid-Atlantic cities. It is home to the Washington Hilton, the site of the assassination attempt of President Ronald Reagan on March 30, 1981, and the Adams Campus of the Oyster-Adams Bilingual School. It is bordered by Kalorama Park.

The area is served by many modes of transportation including rail (via the Red Line of the Washington Metro), bus (via intercity carriers and Metrobus), bicycle (including bicycle lanes and Capital Bikeshare locations), and car. It received a WalkScore of 96.
