A number plate may be:
- A vehicle registration plate or license plate
- A plate attached to a locomotive indicating its number, particularly in the UK and Australia which are often collected as memorabilia ( railroadiana).
- A plate attached to the front or sides of racing vehicle denoting the ranking level of the racer at the end of the previous racing season
