Nowthia is a village in Tehsil Kharian of Gujrat District, Pakistan. It is located about 150 kilometers from Lahore, 16 kilometers from Kharian. Rajput is the main tribe of Nowthia. You can see greenery all around the village throughout the year specially in the monsoon season. In the North of the village there are small green hills, which provides us wood. The name of the village NOWTHIA is derived from NO (Nine) Thia (Living Place).
Most of the people of this village are settled in Denmark, Italy, Germany, England, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Very little strength of this village is serving in Pakistan Army. Wrestling & Kabaddi are the most favorite Games of this village in past. Subedar (Retd) Muhammad Akram, Subedar Major Muhammad Aslam (Late), Haji Muhammad Razzaq, Raja Muhammad Manaf, Raja Abdul Malik, Raja Jabbar, Raja Said Ali are very famous wrestler in our Region. Now the Cricket & Volleyball the most famous games of this village. Raja Asim Mallah is very famous Volleyball player known at National Level. Raja Tariq Hussain (Late), Raja Banaras, Raja Habib, Raja Gulla & Raja Umar Ali, are very famous constructors of this Village.
Nowthia is known for its agricultural diversity, different crops including wheat. There is a primary school near the hill and kids have to travel few miles to go to high school in the nearby village.
Raja ALi Raza is the Pride of Nowthia, who stand first in the exams of Automation in Technical Board of Lahore. This is the honour for my village.
Raja Asim Mallah, Raja Latif Challa, Raja Amin, Baba Karamat, Raja Nazir Jeera and Fauji Shaka are very famous names of Nowthia in Eating.
Nowthia is basically a small village with a population of about 2500 people and area about 3 km in radius. Nowthia is surrounded by villages like Rariala, Kuliyan, Mehr, Kullak and Jhantla.
Nowthia can be reached from Gulyana/ Manglia road or from Kharian road. People in Nowthia are mostly peace-loving, require basic infrastructure in shape of proper roads, electricity in the streets and development work in order to avoid flood-related problems in the monsoon. But above all education is the area where it needs some improvement.
