Noosfero

Noosfero is a collaborative web platform intended for the creation of social networks. It can be used for creating blogs, discussion areas, online portfolios, event calendars, etc. Noosfero was initially used by Cirandas.net, by the University of São Paulo in 2012 and later by the Brazilian state-owned IT company SERPRO. The application integrates tools such as profiles for users, communities and enterprises, as well as a website content management system, RSS, forums, chats, events and communication inside the app itself. It can also be extended with plug-ins.

Launched in 2009, Noosfero is also a free software project developed by Colivre, a Brazilian IT cooperative, together with independent developers of the Noosfero community.
