NIMCET

NIMCET is the national level entrance test for admission to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) courses in selected National Institutes of Technology (NITs). A total of 11 NITs offer MCA. Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal take admission based on NIMCET rank. (LIST).

The Master of Computer Applications (short form MCA) course is one of the most sought after courses offered in the NITs and has a high job potential in the software houses in India and abroad. The first common admission test, NIMCET-05, was conducted in 2005. About 13,000 candidates appeared for NIMCET-05 for 420 seats available in NITs. Candidates with an aggregate (all subjects put together) of 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in bachelor's degree of minimum duration of 3 years from a recognized University in any discipline, with Mathematics as one of the subjects both in graduation and at 10+2 level are eligible.
