NextCity

NextCity is a means by which city management can integrate traveler information and payment. NextCity is founded on three core principles: integrated customer experience, one account, and integrated operations and analytics. NextCity is a framework that rapidly transforms big data into relevant information and yields choices for how and when to travel in smart cities of the future.

NextCity encompasses traffic management, predictive analytics, real-time passenger information and revenue management. The purpose of NextCity is to deliver smarter travel, provide a holistic view of a city’s entire transportation architecture and inform residents.

NextCity acts as a single account platform covering multiple forms of transportation, including trains, cars, buses, bikes and pedestrians. NextCity goes further than apps such as Citymapper by analyzing a person’s choices and behavior, including how often they travel at the same time each day and whether they need a seat.

NextCity mirrors very closely the principles upon which the growing Mobility as a Service (MaaS) initiatives are based – the efficiency of shared mobility resources purchased and managed through a single customer or rider account, social inclusivity by maximizing access to the optimum means of travel and mobility, sustainability through intelligent management of resources and infrastructure and making public transit as attractive as possible by putting power into the hands of those who use it. NextCity is an ideal platform by which cities can underpin their drive towards MaaS Implementation.
