Newtonhill

Newtonhill is a commuter village in Kincardineshire, Scotland. It is popular due to its location, just six miles south of Aberdeen with easy reach of Stonehaven and with views over the North Sea.

The village, originally called Skateraw, has three commercial outlets; A Tesco Metro Store, a convenience store - Newtonhill Village Store and a pharmacy, which also hosts a weekly post office. There are two pubs in the village, Quoiters and The Newton Arms. Local events centre on the community centre, The Bettridge Centre, which is run by villagers. Beside this centre is the local library. Newtonhill Library is a branch of Aberdeenshire Libraries (www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/libraries) and managed by the Network Librarian at Portlethen Library. The library is open for 9 hours a week and delivers Bookbug Sessions, Chatty Tuesdays, free internet access, photocopying and various other services. Please call 01224 786190 if you have any queries.
