Nerea is an own feminine name of Greek origin. It derives of náo "swim". It mean ''The boss at sea.
The name of Nerea, derived from the name of the Nereids and Nereus female name, Greek ναω (nao), "flow, swim, sail" as Νερευς, -εως (Nereus, "the flowing")It is the first god of sea water (above, therefore, Poseidon, belonging to the Olympic dynasty). Doris joined Nereus and daughters were known as Nereids.
