Navneet is a name in India of Punjabi origin derived from the Sanskrit word "navaneet" meaning "fresh butter". It has come to mean "one who is ever new" or "eternally new". It is of fairly recent creation and has been used for boys and girls. It is used in places other than Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
The name Navneet is mentioned in the Mahabharata. This name is a synonym of Lord Krishna.
