The National Committee was founded in 1863 by Epameinondas Deligiorgis. The party was dissolved after the death of its founder, in 1879. It supported the development of a stable Parliamentary system, the modernization of the country and the economic development of Greece. It wanted to reform the government and the army while expanding culturally in the Ottoman Empire.
