What is "mulenge"

Mulenge is a city of the Kigoma group in Uvira Territory, South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo. It is located on the highlands overlooking the town of Uvira.

The town's name gave rise to the term Banyamulenge, literally "people of Mulenge", a name for the mainly Tutsi Kinyarwanda speakers resident in South Kivu.
