What is "muldenhammer"

Muldenhammer is a municipality in the Vogtlandkreis district, in Saxony, Germany. It was formed by the merger of the previously independent municipalities Hammerbrücke, Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz and Tannenbergsthal, on 1 October 2009.

Muldenhammer is a former subdivision of the town of Eibenstock in the Ore Mountains. It originated from a finery forge (iron works) first mentioned in the 16th century and was abandoned in 1974 due to the construction of Eibenstock Dam.
