Moero

Moero or Myro was a poet of the 3rd century BCE from the city of Byzantium.

She was the wife of Andromachus Philologus and the mother (according to other sources, a daughter) of Homerus of Byzantium, the tragedian.

Antipater of Thessalonica includes Moero in his list of famous women poets. She wrote epic, elegiac, and lyric poetry, but little has survived. Athenaeus quotes from her epic poem, Mnemosyne , and two dedicatory epigrams of hers are included in the Greek Anthology. She also wrote a hymn to Poseidon and a collection of poems called Arai .

The Suda mentions her under the name Myro, and the Myro mentioned by Eustathios is probably the same person.
