Mistura

Mistura \Mis*tu"ra\, n. [L. See Mixture.] (Med.)

  1. A mingled compound in which different ingredients are contained in a liquid state; a mixture. See Mixture, n., 4.

  2. Sometimes, a liquid medicine containing very active substances, and which can only be administered by drops.

Acacia Mixture, Mistura Acaciae of the British Pharmacopoeia Codex, is made from Gum Acacia (6 in 100) with syrup and diluted orange- flower water, employed as a demulcent in cough syrups and linctures.
