Minchir
Minchir is a proper name of a star. It came from Arabic minkhir or minkhar ("nose" or "nostrils").
- Sigma Hydrae or Minchir, derived from the Arabic Minkhir al-Shuja‘, "the nostril of Hydra"
- Kappa Leonis or Minchir el-asad, derived from the Arabic Minkhir al-Asad, "muzzle of (the constellation of) the Lion"
- Alpha Ceti or Menkar, derived from the Arabic manħar "nostril" (of Cetus)
