The Mimosoideae comprise a subfamily of the flowering plant family Fabaceae (Leguminosae) characterized by flowers with small petals and numerous prominent stamens. In some classifications (e.g. the Cronquist system), "Mimosoideae" refers to what was formerly considered the tribe Mimoseae.
