Mfaz'Omnyama
Mfaz’ omnyama was a giant of Maskandi music, a great guitar player and inventive lyricist.
Born Mpatheni Khumalo, in rural Nogoma, was a left-handed self-taught master of the string and stage, and released many top-selling albums in his time.
He was part of a music group called “Izingqungqulu Zomhlaba” consisting of Phuzekhemisi and Ihashi Elimhlophe and later pursued a solo career.
Lost his life to pancreatic cancer at age 42 in 2001 and has become even more popular after death than he was while alive.
