Melekeok is a town in the State of Melekeok (one of Palau's sixteen states). It is located on the east coast of Palau's largest island, Babeldaob. On October 2006, the settlement of Ngerulmud, located from the village of Melekeok, became the seat of Palau's government, replacing Koror.
According to the 2005 census, 271 people resided in Melekeok town.

Melekeok is a state of the Republic of Palau located on the central east coast of Babeldaob Island. The seat of government of the country Ngerulmud, is located in the state. The state consists of long beaches, hills, steep ridges, rivers and the largest and only natural freshwater lake in the Republic of Palau and Micronesia, Lake Ngardok.
