What is "meic"

MEIC LLC is a leading pharmaceutical company in Mongolia. MEIC has more than 80 branch pharmacies and Pharm Markets in total – more than one branch pharmacy in each province of Mongolia and 10 Pharm Markets in Ulaanbaatar city. MEIC has about 300 full-time employees.

MEIC has collaborates with WHO, UNFPA, UNICEF and other charity and international organizations to provide storage, warehouse and distribution services of their donations and supplies in Mongolia.

The company was established in 1923 by the Decree of People’s Revolutionary Government as a First State-owned Pharmacy. Over the years it has grown from a simple pharmacy to the state drug procurement and distribution organization with national network of competent pharmacies, warehouses, own pharmaceutical plant and branch offices throughout Mongolia.

After the transition from the centralized economy to the free-market economy system, MEIC remained largely responsible for the supply of essential medicines, medical devices and equipment to the governmental organizations, NGOs, state sponsored health initiatives with the arrival of the market competitors.
