Mehrzad

Mehrzad (; is a Persian (Iranian) male and female given name.

'Mehrzad' derives from Middle Persian Mihrdat, a theophoric name meaning "Given by Mehr." 'Mehr' in turn derives from Avestan Mithra, the Zoroastrian divinity and hypostasis of covenant.
