Medimix is an Indian brand of ayurvedic/ herbal soap manufactured and marketed by Cholayil Private Limited, a Chennai based company. The brand was founded by Dr. V.P.Sidhan. In 2011, Medimix was judged the 87th most trusted brand in India and the 15th most trusted brand in the 'personal care' category according to the Brand Equity Survey conducted by the Economic Times. It can be traced to the kitchen of V.P. Sidhan, a physician who worked in the Indian Railways and belonged to a family of Ayurveda practitioners in Trichur, Kerala. He used oils which his ancestors had used to treat skin diseases, to produce soap and launched Medimix in 1969. This is the birth of Cholayil Private Limited. Cholayil Private Limited manufactures Medimix Classic 18 herbs soap, Medimix Glycerin soap, Medimix Sandal soap, Medimix Face wash. Cholayil owns Cuticura and Krishna Thulasi brands.

The clever businessman that he was, he understood the importance and the power of communication and soon turned a simple Ayurveda product into a most sought after brand. His business acumen was lauded by the Lions Club, with whom he was associated in the capacity of District Chairman for over a decade. He won the prestigious 'Vocational Excellence Award', by the Rotary Club International for his exceptional humanitarian work. Mr. Pradeep Cholayil Chairman & Managing Director for Cholayil Private Limited. Mr. Pradeep Cholayil hails from Cholayil family of Kerala, well known for their practice of Ayurveda for generations. He started his career as the Head of Marketing & Finance Departments of Cholayil. Under the able guidance of his father and founder of the Company - Late Dr. V.P. Sidhan, Mr. Pradeep grew to become the Managing Director of the company. He was instrumental in launching the Company's flagship brand Medimix all over India in 1999 and subsequently in the international markets. Now, the brand has become world's largest sold Ayurvedic soap. It was with his zeal and efforts that the Company could acquire two personal care brands Cuticura and Krishna Thulasi in the years 2001 and 2011 respectively.
Ms. Jaya Devi Cholayil Director of Research & Development at Cholayil Group Jayadevi Cholayil, hails from Coimbatore & marriage brought her to Chennai. A self-taught artist & a trained designer from NIFT, she is recognized for her eco friendly fusion of handmade traditional & contemporary clothes. She founded JULLAAHA & her mission is to incorporate social & environmental responsibility into her everyday practice. In order to achieve this, she provides stable employment to the destitute women & also gives training to the inmates of Banyan, in the craft forms like Batik, block print, Kalamkari etc. She is a sustainable organization leader. She has won many awards & the recent one being - The Women entrepreneur of the year, given by FICCI - FLO. She is the director of R & D @ CHOLAYIL. Being part of this, she has created a line of exotic handmade soaps & personal care products - with the goodness of Ayurveda & luxurious butters, under the Jullaaha label & they are received very well.
