Mechanitis
Mechanitis is a genus of tigerwing ( ithomiine) butterflies, named by Fabricius in 1807. They are in the brush-footed butterfly family, Nymphalidae. It has gained fame due to the metallic appearance of the droppings in certain phenotypes.
