Masand

Masand were group of Sikh representatives who taught and spread the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and also collect offering of a Sikh's which are given as support preaching of Sikhism and submit it to Headquarters. Masand means diocese or spiritual mentor. The system was started by Guru Arjan, who appointed Masands for various parts around India and Abroad. It is continuation of 22 Manji System started by Guru Amar Das. Masand, who serve far from Punjab, visit Guru once a year and submit offerings and collections for Langar or warfare.
