For the convenience of people who wish to read the Qur'an in a week the text may be divided into 7 portions, each portion is known as Manzil.

The following division to 7 equal portions is by Hamza Al-Zayyat (d.156/772):

  1. Al-Fatihah (chapter 1) through An-Nisa' (chapter 4) consisting of 4 surahs.
  2. Al-Ma'ida (chapter 5) through At-Tawba (chapter 9) consisting of 5 surahs.
  3. Yunus (chapter 10) through An-Nahl (chapter 16) consisting of 7 surahs.
  4. Al Isra' (chapter 17) through Al-Furqan (chapter 25) consisting of 9 surahs.
  5. Ash-Shuara' (chapter 26) through Ya-Seen (chapter 36) consisting of 11 surahs.
  6. As-Saaffat (chapter 37) through Al-Hujarat (chapter 49) consisting of 13 surahs.
  7. Qaf (chapter 50) through An-Nass (chapter 114) consisting of 65 surahs.

Manzil (English: Destination) is a 1960 Bollywood film directed by Mandi Burman. It stars the popular duo Dev Anand and Nutan in the leading roles. Krishan Dhawan, Achala Sachdev and K.N. Singh star in supporting roles. It was declared "average", taking the seventeenth spot at highest grossing, earning 760,000 rupees at the box office.

Manzil (1979 film)

Manzil is a 1979 Indian Bollywood film directed by Basu Chatterjee. The film was similar to the Bengali film Akash Kusum (1965), directed by the veteran parallel film maker Mrinal Sen and starring Soumitra Chatterjee and Aparna Sen in the lead. Manzil stars Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee in pivotal roles. The film won critical acclaim for its story, while Bachchan was praised for his performance, although, the film did only average business at the box office. The song "Rimjhim Gire Saawan" song is a chartbuster.

Manzil is a 1936 Hindi film from New Theatres. A bilingual made in Hindi and Bengali ( Grihadah), it was directed by P.C. Barua from a story by Saratchandra Chattopadhyay. The dialogues and lyrics were by Arzu Lucknowi and music composed by R. C. Boral and Pankaj Mullick. The cast included Prithviraj Kapoor, Jamuna, Pahari Sanyal, Molina Devi, K. C. Dey and Boken Chatto. The story, a love triangle, revolves around two friends Mahim and Suresh and the girl they both love, Achala.

Manzil (TV series)

Manzil is a TV serial about a girl living in hostel far away from hometown and falls in love with a boy. The serial is directed by Kamran Qureshi, written by Zubair Abbasi and produced by Humayun Saeed & Abdullah Kadwani's production house 7th Sky Entertainment.

The English title of the serial is Lost Destination and it was broadcast on ARY TV. Manzil is an intense drama about a girl's courage, determination and convictions of her heart.
