Mantius is also a genus of jumping spiders.

In Greek mythology, Mantius was the son of Melampus and Iphianassa and the father of Cleitus, Polypheides and, in some versions, of Oicles.

Mantius is a spider genus of the Salticidae family (jumping spiders).

There is no recent information on any of the five described species from south east Asia. The genus is said to be close to Ptocasius.
