Malmstrom or Malmström is a Swedish, Danish and Finnish surname. It comes from the word Malm, which means ore, and Strom, a word for current/stream. It is an ornamental surname, probably referring to someone who lived nearby a stream or rocks. People with this name are most likely of Scandinavian descent.
