What is "malesia"

Malesia is a biogeographical region straddling the Equator and the boundaries of the Indomalaya ecozone and Australasia ecozone, and also a phytogeographical floristic region in the Paleotropical Kingdom. It has been given different definitions. The World Geographic Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions split off Papuasia in its 2001 version.

Malësia or Malcía is a historical and ethnographic region in northern Albania, consisting of the Malësi e Madhe District. It is made up of five mountains , and seven Clans . The tribes are known as Malësor.

Malesia is a genus of moths in the family Arctiidae. It contains the single species Malesia eugoana, which is found on Java and Borneo.
