What is "malav"

Malav is one of the three sub-castes or branches of the Dhakar caste that has its origins in India. Members of that caste believe themselves to be descendants of the mythological Agnivanshi dynasty and to be degraded Rajputs. Other two Dhakar branches are the Kirars and the Nagars. Malav people are widely distributed in the Malwa, Hadoti and Mewar regions.
