MAFONSO(Marino Alfonso) born in Frattaminore in the province of Naples on November 12, 1948 Is an Italian painter and sculptor. In the early 70s he abandoned his university studies to devote himself exclusively to painting and moved to Rome, where he held his first exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art Agency of Paolo Sprovieri Gianni Sampietro. At the end of the 70s is one of the founders of the group "COSA MENTALE" presented at the gallery AAM (Architettura Arte Moderna) curated by the art historian Maurizio Fagiolo Dell'Arco Roma (1979). In 2005 participates in the group exhibition "13x17: artisti per un'indagine eccentrica sull'arte in Italia, curated by Philippe Daverio, Published by Rizzoli 2007. 2011 he was invited to the Venice Biennale 54.
